Shooting victim identified

A shooting victim who died Tuesday evening has been identified as 21-year-old Deontray Eric Blakley.
The Bakersfield man was shot in the 1400 block of Calcutta Drive at 4:15 p.m. and pronounced dead just after 5 p.m. at Mercy Hospital, according to a coroner's office news release. An autopsy is scheduled for later this week.
Witnesses reported a vehicle pulled up next to Blakley and someone inside opened fire, police said. The shooting may be gang-related.
