City catch basin lids and sewer lids stolen

Bakersfield police are asking for the public's help identifying suspects responsible for stealing city property.
Large amounts of catch basin lids and sewer lid covers have been removed from locations throughout Bakersfield. There have been 18 reported thefts of catch basin lids, and it's believed these thefts are happening during the late evening to the early morning.
Catch basin lids are 2 feet by 2 feet, weigh between 10 to 15 pounds and are located on the sidewalk above the street storm drains. The manhole sewer lids are circular and weigh between 150 to 180 pounds.
Anyone with suspect information is asked to call the Bakersfield Police Department at 327-7111 or Detective Pete Cavazos at 326-3561.
