Lamont man arrested on suspicion of stealing farm equipment

Detectives arrested a Lamont man who stole a piece of farm equipment that had been placed under electronic surveillance following an increase in thefts of farm equipment in the Lamont area over the past several weeks.

Cesar Macias, 37, was booked on suspicion of grand theft and possession of stolen property earlier this week, deputies said.

Anyone with information regarding this investigation is asked to call the Kern County Sheriff's Office Rural Crime Investigation Unit at 392-4365.
