Bakersfield police are searching for a man accused of dragging his ex-girlfriend by her hair and kicking her on Aug. 3.

The incident occurred around 10:35 a.m. when Sergio Hernandez, 35, of Bakersfield, allegedly went to the woman's home in the 8600 block of Chaumont Court, where she lives with her boyfriend.

When she answered the door, Hernandez reportedly grabbed her and began dragging her toward a parked vehicle in front of the residence, according to a BPD news release.

When the victim's current boyfriend approached, Hernandez fled.

He is wanted for domestic violence, kidnapping and a felony warrant for domestic violence.

At the time of the August attack, Hernandez was on post-release community supervision for a prior incident of rape, domestic violence and false imprisonment of the same victim.

He is described as Hispanic, 185 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call Detective Ken Sporer at 326-3275 or the BPD at 327-7111.
