At 1:49 p.m. Thursday, Kern County sheriff's deputies received a report of an armed robbery at the Lucky 7 Market at 1825 E. California Ave. in east Bakersfield.
The reporting party indicated the suspects were five black males dressed in dark clothing and wearing dark hats, and one of them was armed with a handgun. Witnesses got the license plate number of the suspect vehicle, and a few minutes later deputies saw the vehicle traveling southbound in the 600 block of Williams Street.
Deputies followed the vehicle to the east alley of Martin Luther King Boulevard at Virginia Avenue and stopped it in the east alley. The driver and sole occupant was 40-year-old Mark Louden, who was later identified by witnesses as being involved in the robbery.
The four other suspects have not been located.
