Second suspect in October shooting arrested

A second suspect in a fatal October shooting turned himself into police Friday, according to a Bakersfield Police Department news release.

On Oct. 31, Terry Ellis was shot and killed in the 1500 block of Pacheco Road. One suspect in the shooting, Jamal Markece Epps, 24, was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of murder, conspiracy, felon in possession of a firearm and participation in a criminal street gang.

Police had also issued a warrant for the arrest of Cory Hunter, 30, in connection with the shooting. On Friday, Hunter turned himself in, and he was arrested on suspicion of murder, conspiracy, felon in possession of a firearm and participation in a criminal street gang, according to the news release. He was booked into Kern County Jail.
