Oildale man assaulted, hit in head with baseball bat

At 2:26 p.m. Monday, deputies from the Kern County Sheriff's Office Metropolitan Patrol Section were sent to a victim of an assault with a deadly weapon on the 200 block of Oildale Drive.
When deputies arrived, they found the victim, 33-year-old Rory Finley, had been struck in the head with a metal baseball bat during an altercation with an unknown male suspect. Finley was transported to Kern Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. The suspect fled the area in accompany of multiple males and females. The subjects fled southbound Oildale Drive in an older white Lexus sport utility vehicle and an older black Ford sport utility vehicle prior to deputies arrival. The investigation is ongoing.
