Both directions of Highway 99 have reopened after a tanker truck overturned at Highway 65 at about 4:51 a.m. today.

Highway 65 at Merld Haggard Drive is also open, the California Highway Patrol reported.

CHP Officer Kirk Arnold said the fuel carrier caught fire but the unidentified driver suffered only minor injuries. He said the incident was first reported at 7:38 a.m.

Southbound Highway 99, where the accident took place, had been closed at 7th Standard Road. Highway 65 had also been closed at Merle Haggard Drive.

It was unclear whether the tanker was carrying gasoline or diesel, and whether any of it spilled. Arnold said emergency responders were able to offload fuel from the vehicle.
