Man found dead in orchard was shot

A man who was found dead in an orchard southeast of Bakersfield on Monday died from a gunshot wound, and the death is considered a homicide, the coroner's office reported Thursday.

Joaquin Molina, 23, of Bakersfield was discovered dead by a farm worker at 12:05 p.m. Monday in an orchard west of Comanche Drive, just south of Pioneer Drive, according to a coroner's news release.

The Kern County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death.
