Police arrest Bakersfield man suspected of three local bank robberies since January

Bakersfield police announced Saturday they have made an arrest in connection with a series of recent bank robberies in the area.

Jasdeep Singh Dhaliwal, a 23-year-old Bakersfield man, was arrested at about 9:40 p.m. Friday, according to a news release from the Bakersfield Police Department. It said he has been charged with three counts of first-degree robbery.

Since January the department has been investigation three bank robberies it suspects were committed by the same person.

The first of these took place Jan. 29 at a Chase bank inside an Albertsons grocery store in the 3500 block of Panama Lane. The second was April 4 at a Rabobank in the 3900 block of Gosford Road, and the third was April 27 at a Bank of America in the 9000 block of Ming Avenue.

The investigation continues; anyone with information is urged to call the department at 327-7111, or Detective Ted King (326-3553) or Detective Brian Kennemer (326-3511).
