Gunfire in Delano leaves one man dead, another wounded

One man was killed and another wounded after gunfire rang out in Delano early Saturday morning.

At 1:21 a.m., Delano police and emergency medical personnel were called to the 1500 block of 10th Avenue where they found two shooting victims, the Delano Police Department said in a news release Saturday.

The Kern County Coroner's Office later identified the man who suffered fatal injuries as David Issmael Morales, 22, of Delano. The second victim, 21-year-old, Juan Ceja, also of Delano, was taken by family members to Delano Regional Medical Center where he was listed in stable condition, police said.

The motive and circumstances of the shooting are being investigated by the Delano Police Department investigation unit. Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to call 721-3356.
