Suspect tried cashing forged checks

    Bakersfield Police are asking for the public's help identifying this suspect wanted for check forgery. Police said the suspect, shown in this video surveillance photo, cashed a forged check March 1 and attempted to cash another forged check March 11.

Bakersfield police are asking for help finding a suspect who tried cashing two forged checks.

The suspect entered the Vons at 5360 Olive Drive on March 1 in the first incident. On March 11, he tried cashing a forged check at the Money Mart at 2011 Union Ave.

Both checks had been stolen out of the victim's mailbox.

The suspect is described as white, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall, 150 to160 pounds, with short brown hair and a light mustache and beard.

He left the Vons in a red 2000 Toyota Corolla with a California license plate of 4JSE127. After the Money Market incident he was seen getting into a white 2005 Lexus with a California license plate of 5LIK086.

Anyone with information regarding this crime is asked to call Detective Blaine Craig at 326-3541.
