Suspect arrested two months after stabbing death


Kern County Sheriff's deputies arrested a man Monday on suspicion of murder and attempted robbery in a Feb. 25 stabbing death.

Detectives arrested Joseph Robert Twist, 37, near the intersection of Mt. Vernon and Columbus avenues, according to a sheriff's news release.

In February, deputies went to an apartment complex in the 1700 block of Flower Street and found Juan Galvan, 37, lying in the street with stab wounds. He was taken to Kern Medical Center where he later died.
