By THE BAKERSFIELD CALIFORNIAN

Bakersfield police arrested two people early Sunday in connection with the injury of a child.

When police arrived at 210 Cedar St. about a mile south of downtown on a medical aid call about 1 a.m., they found an unconscious juvenile with several injuries caused by blunt force trauma.

After being taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, the child was moved to Children's Hospital Central California in Madera.

A second child in the home was taken into protective custody.

Virginia Rodriguez, 34, and Jesse Brown, 31, both of Bakersfield, were arrested on suspicion of felony child endangerment.
