Parents arrested in death of Rosamond newborn

The Kern County Sheriff's Department has arrested the parents of a 2-month-old girl who died earlier this month.
Jude Mae Newbold was taken to the hospital Sept. 11 after deputies responded to a report of a child having trouble breathing at 1847 Elm Street in Rosamond, which is just west of Edwards Airforce Base.
The child was rushed to Antelope Valley Hospital, where she died, after deputies spoke to her parents, Nicholas Newbold, 21, and Juliana Linn, 18. Both parents where home at the time of the incident, deputies said.
An autopsy the next day found blunt force trauma to the head and other undetermined factors killed the baby and declared her death a homicide.
Detectives arrested the parents on Friday without incident. They were booked into the Central Receiving Facility on $1 million bail, and remained there Saturday.
