Gang deputies make arrest for narcotics violations

Two people were arrested Wednesday night after Kern County Sheriff's deputies found 20 grams of heroin, a large amount of U.S. currency and paraphernalia associated with the sale of controlled substances in an east Bakersfield home.

Deputies from the Gang Suppression Section went to Horace Mann Avenue to try to find a warrant suspect and to conduct a probation search at about 8:30 p.m., according to a sheriff's news releasee.

Fausto Jimenez, 35, and Leticia Lopez, 26, were arrested on suspicion of being in possession of heroin for the purpose of sale, possession of drug paraphernalia, conspiracy, destruction of evidence and child endangerment, deputies reported.

Deputies said Jimenez was also booked on an outstanding warrant for his arrest.
