By BREAKING NEWS BLOG

A three-month investigation has led to the arrest of a Lebec man on suspicion of committing sex acts with a minor.

Steven Michael Brunelle, 22, was booked into jail and bail was set at $90,000, according to Kern County sheriff's deputies. He was arrested April 19.

Deputies said they began an investigation into Brunelle after learning he allegedly molested a 13-year-old girl in the Frazier Park area. The alleged molestation happened in December in the victim's home.

A criminal complaint was submitted to the Kern County District Attorney's office at the end of the investigation, at which point the DA's office issued a warrant charging Brunelle with comitting a lewd or lascivious act with a child under 14 years of age, attempting to commit a lewd or lascivious act with a child and contacting a minor with the intent to commit a sexual offense.
