Two accused in connection with assault, carjacking of repossession agent

A woman and an 18-year-old assaulted a repossession agent Thursday and stole his vehicle after the agent tried to repossess the woman's vehicle in southeast Bakersfield, police said.

April Lee, 38, was arrested on suspicion of carjacking, conspiracy and assault with a deadly weapon, and Dominique Robertson, 18, was arrested on suspicion of carjacking and conspiracy. Police said the agent suffered minor injuries.

Officers responded to the 4900 block of South Union Avenue at 11:41 a.m. and discovered the agent had parked behind a vehicle and contacted its driver, Lee, informing her that he was repossessing the vehicle. Police said Lee backed her vehicle into the agent's, and then gout out and began assaulting him. Robertson joined in.

Police said Robertson then got into the agent's vehicle and left the scene, followed by Lee in her vehicle.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Bakersfield Police Department at 327-7111.
