Paramedic-firefighter, Good Samaritans help man in Pine Mountain Club

A designated paramedic firefighter used advanced life support Saturday in the remote community of Pine Mountain Club, according to a news release from the Kern County Fire Department.
The fire department was called at about 5:49 p.m. about a man in cardiac arrest.
The crew from county fire Station 58 with the paramedic firefighter and an assisting crew from Frazier Park Station 57 responded. Good Samaritans performed CPR and an automatic external defibrillator was used, the news release said.
The paramedic firefighter used advanced life support and after the patient regained a pulse, respirations and consciousness, he was taken to San Joaquin Community Hospital by air ambulance, the news release said.
Assistance was given by Pine Mountain Club, American Medical Response and Hall Air Ambulance, the news release said.
