Guns recovered believed used in Mojave shooting

A gun believed used in a shooting in Mojave last week has been recovered, deputies said Tuesday.
A motorist who saw the beginning of a chase that began in Mojave and ended in east Bakersfield saw the suspects throw a dark-colored object from the passenger window onto the shoulder of the highway, deputies said. Deputies went to the area described by the motorist recovered a handgun and a magazine for the gun.
Deputies also found a second gun believed to have been discarded by the suspects.
The shooting happened Jan. 8 near the Motel 6 in Mojave, according to deputies. The victim was airlifted to the hospital in stable condition.
Two people were arrested after the chase ended in east Bakersfield. They were booked on suspicion of offenses including assault with a deadly weapon.
