One wounded in Wasco stabbing Tuesday morning

Kern County Sheriff's detectives are investigating a Tuesday morning stabbing in Wasco that sent one man to the hospital.
Wasco City deputies were sent to a report of a victim of an assault in the 1300 block of D Street at 5:21 a.m., according to a sheriff's department news release. They found David Juarez, 28, in the front yard of the house suffering from "at least one sharp edged weapon wound," the news release said.
Juarez was taken to Kern Medical Center via ambulance. He is listed in guarded condition, deputies said.
No arrests had been made in the case on Tuesday evening, Commander Dennis Smithson said. There had been a New Year's Eve party at the house were the stabbing occurred, but at this point it does not appear the gathering and the stabbing were connected, Smithson said.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the sheriff's office at 861-3110 or Secret Witness at 322-4040. Anonymous tips can be sent via text to TIP411 (847411). Type the keyword "KCSO" before to the message.
