An accused drunken driver lost control of his vehicle on Highway 58 early Monday and a passenger suffered major injuries when the car overturned.
The badly injured passenger, Gilbert Ortiz, 20, was taken to Kern Medical Center, according to the California Highway Patrol. Another passenger, 19-year-old Michael Barreraz, suffered minor injuries.
Anthony Barreraz, 50, was arrested on suspicion of DUI, officers said.
