By ASSOCIATED PRESS

AGUA DULCE -- A dozen people have been injured in a freeway accident north of Los Angeles.

KABC-TV reports three were critically hurt in Monday's wreck caused by an apparent wrong-way driver. The accident, which involved at least eight vehicles, occurred during afternoon rush hour on the 14 Freeway in the Antelope Valley. Traffic was snarled for miles.

The station says a white pickup truck was traveling the wrong way in the northbound lanes, causing the pileup.

A helicopter was called in to airlift the injured to a hospital.
