Clovis man killed while hunting

By The Bakersfield Californian

A 27-year-old Clovis man was shot dead Saturday afternoon while on a hunting trip in a mountainous area 20 miles southeast of Lake Isabella, according to the Kern County Sheriff's Department.

The coroner's office identified the victim as Ker Her.

Her and another man that the department hasn't named were hunting when the unnamed man slipped and fell, a sheriff's news release said. It said that as he fell, his finger was on the trigger of the rifle he was carrying and when he hit the ground, the rifle discharged and Her was shot.

Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the scene at 2:11 p.m. and found Her dead, the release said.

Homicide detectives are investigating. The Sheriff's Department said it was not immediately releasing any additional information about the shooting. Daily Deal!
