Rescuers hoist person trapped from flash flood


Kern County Sheriff's Office personnel rescued a female trapped in her vehicle near Ridgecrest because of a flash flood Monday evening.

Rescuers found the female in a white SUV in the area of Garlock Road, north of Redrock-Randsburg Road, according to a sheriff's department news release. A sheriff's deputy was lowered from a helicopter and the female was hoisted from her vehicle to ground crews.

She was uninjured.
