Man killed by driver who ran red light

A Bakersfield man died, Saturday, after another driver ran a red light in east Bakersfield and slammed into the side of the 1998 Chevrolet he was driving.

Guillermo Solis, 56, was driving west on Eucalyptus Drive at 9:35 a.m. Saturday and had a green light when he entered the intersection of Eucalyptus and Fairfax Road, according to California

James L. Donnell, 32, was driving a 2010 Toyota north on Fairfax, ran a red light at Eucalyptus and slammed into the driver's side of Solis' Chevy.

Solis died at the scene, Highway Patrol officers reported.
