Police seek information in Sunday shooting death

Bakersfield Police are seeking information about a Sunday morning shooting that killed a man.

Police said Kern Medical Center notified them about 2:15 a.m. that Roberto Cortes, 24, was being treated for a gunshot wound.

Cortes, who was transported to the hospital by a private vehicle, died just before 7 a.m., police said.

The shooting occurred in the 200 block of East 18th Street.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact police at 327-7111 or Detective J. Finney at 326-3535.
