By BREAKING NEWS BLOG

Edi Gonzalez possesses a formidable sweet tooth.

The 22-year-old Lancaster man is accused of stealing a pastry from a Fastrip in Rosamond and then firing a shot in the air as he ran from the store.

Deputies said the incident occurred at 9:30 p.m. Thursday at the Fastrip on Rosamond Boulevard and Sierra Highway. An hour later, deputies tracked Gonzalez to a trailer park in the 1200 block of Rosamond Boulevard.

Gonzalez ran when confronted by deputies and a loaded handgun fell from his shorts as he was tackled in his front yard, deputies said. The gun contained five live rounds and one spent shell casing.

Deputies arrested Gonzalez on suspicion of offenses including armed robbery and negligent discharge of a gun. A second person who entered the store with Gonzalez has not been found.
