One man shot to death, another stabbed in Wasco

One man is dead after being shot and another man is in stable condition after he was stabbed Thursday night in Wasco.

Kern County Sheriff's deputies went to an apartment complex at the intersection of 4th and D streets at about 5:53 p.m. Thursday and found 32-year-old old Jose Alfredo Rodriguez had been shot. He was taken to Kern Medical Center, where he died at 8:11 p.m.

Shortly after finding Rodriguez, deputies were told 24-year-old Jose Garnica had been taken to the Kern County fire station on 7th Street with a stab wound.

Deputeis said Garnica is in serious but stable condition.

Sheriff's investigators believe the incidents are related and said the investigation is ongoing.
