Man holds up Weedpatch Highway Jack in the Box

By THE BAKERSFIELD CALIFORNIAN

An armed man robbed a Jack in the Box in the 400 block of Weedpatch Highway Friday night, the Kern County Sheriff's Office reported.

The suspect, described as a black man wearing a motorcycle helmet and a black shirt, held up the restaurant with a handgun at about 8 p.m., getting away with "several hundred dollars," according to a department news release.

The release says a sheriff's department helicopter located a vehicle matching a description of the one used by the suspect. The occupants were identified; no arrests were reported.

The suspect vehicle was described as a blue SUV.

The sheriff's office asked that anyone with information on the case call the department at 861-3110, or its Secret Witness line: 322-4040. Anonymous tips can be texted to TIP411 (847411); make sure to begin with the letters KCSO.
