Plea deal reached in indecent exposure case
By BREAKING NEWS BLOG
A defendant once charged with attempted kidnapping has pleaded no contest to two misdemeanor counts of indecent exposure and two counts of annoying a child.
James Westbrook was ordered to spend 30 days in jail followed by four years of probation, according to the Kern County Superior Court website.
Westbrook was arrested in March on suspicion of trying to grab a girl who managed to struggle free from him, police reported. The attempted kidnapping charge was dismissed Tuesday because of insufficient evidence, but investigators say Westbrook exposed himself to other girls in the area of Berkshire and Akers roads.
