Wind advisory in place overnight for parts of Kern County

A wind advisory is in place from 5 p.m. Friday to 9 a.m. Saturday for the desert facing passes and canyons and the southeastern desert in Kern County, according to the National Weather Service.
Wind advisories are issued when winds of 45 miles per hour or more are expected.
The weather service predicts winds of 25 to 25 miles per hour with occasional gusts of 45 miles per hours. The winds are expected along Highway 14 from Mojave to Jawbone Canyon, Highway 58 from Mojave to Tehachapi Pass and Highway 178 over Walker Pass. Wind speeds will increase through the night and slow down come daybreak.
The weather service advises that the winds will make driving more difficult, especially for taller vehicles. It advises to use extra caution.
