Intruder startles woman in southwest Bakersfield

A woman in the back bedroom of her southwest Bakersfield residence was startled Wednesday evening when an intruder began entering her apartment.

The woman heard noise coming from the living room and, upon going to investigate, saw a man entering through a front window, Bakersfield police Sgt. Uriel Pacheco said. The woman yelled and the suspect ran eastbound in the 6500 block of the south alley of South Half Moon Drive.

The intruder was described as black, 25 to 30 years old, 6 foot tall, muscular build, wearing gray gym shorts, a dark shirt and tennis shoes, Pacheco said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Bakersfield Police Department at 327-7111.
