By THE BAKERSFIELD CALIFORNIAN

Firefighters have the 4,358-acre Grand Fire in Frazier Park about 70 percent contained, according to an update firefighters issued about 6:30 a.m. Saturday.

No structures were destroyed or threatened, and full containment was expected to be reached by May 20.

Firefighters have completed new line construction around the fire and crews were working to improve and hold existing lines.

The Heartbreak Hundred Bicycle Ride, which was scheduled for 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday through Lebec and Frazier Park, was scheduled to go on as planned.

The blaze began Wednesday and resulted in the evacuation of Frazier Mountain High School. Hungry Valley State Park and Piru Creek recreation area are closed until further notice.
