South Fire 90 percent contained

The 271-acre South Fire was 90 percent contained as of Wednesday morning.
Kern County firefighters reported 49 structures were still threatened. There have been no reported injuries and no structures destroyed.
The fire is off South Alpine Way in Bodfish, firefighters reported. It began Sunday afternoon.
