Driver who died in fiery crash identified

The name of a driver who died in a fiery crash last Friday was released Wednesday by the Kern County Sheriff's Department coroner's office.
The driver was Joshowl Elwell, 20, from Bakersfield, according to a news release from the coroner's office.
Elwell was driving his pick-up truck down South Union Avenue just north of Shafter Road at 3:13 p.m. when he lost control, struck a tree and caught fire. He was declared dead at the scene.
Elwell's name had been previously withheld pending identification, according to the news release. He was positively identified through dental comparison.
