Woman rescued from Kern River

About 3 p.m. Sunday, Kern County sheriff's search and rescue was notified of a 51-year-old woman who was missing in the Kern River.
Kimberly Walton had been tubing down the river when she became separated from her group. When Walton did not return, friends reported her missing.
Walton was stuck in some trees on an island north of Lake Ming. The boat team located Walton and brought her back across the river to a point downstream.
