BPD receives grant for 'A Life Interrupted' program


The Bakersfield Police Department has been awarded a $43,912 "A Life Interrupted" grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety for a year-long program aimed at preventing deaths and injuries on local roadways.

Police said the grant will help in their ongoing effort to educate the public on the dangers of distracted driving and driving while impaired. "A Life Interrupted" is a safe driving program that includes presentations at high schools, businesses and local community groups.
