According to a sheriff's department news release, Miller and Christopher Taylor, 21, also of Maricopa argued and then began fighting around 10:20 p.m. near 515 S. Kern St.

Deputies say Miller allegedly choked Taylor and then hit him with a shovel. When Taylor ran, Miller allegedly threw the shovel at him and then followed him in a car.

Taylor sought help at a nearby residence. Deputies later found Miller in the vehicle in Taft.
