Police seek witnesses and suspect in southwest Bakersfield stabbing

By The Bakersfield Californian

Bakersfield police are searching for witnesses and a suspect in connection with a stabbing Thursday morning in southwest Bakersfield.

Bakersfield Police Department officers responded at 10:37 a.m. to the Fastrip Food Store and gas station, 3701 Ming Ave., and found a 40-year-old man suffering from several stab wounds.

The man, however, had little to say about his injuries.

"He was uncooperative -- wouldn't give the location where it happened, wouldn't give any suspect description, or the reason he was stabbed," said Bakersfield police Lt. Andrew Garner. "We believe he was stabbed in the 3800 block of Soranno Avenue."

The man, whom police did not identify, was transported to Kern Medical Center with moderate, non-life threatening injuries.

Police have been unable to locate any witnesses to the incident, Garner said.
