Grand Jury issues recommendations regarding county's Central Receiving Facility

The Kern County Grand Jury has given several recommendations regarding the Sheriff's Department's Central Receiving Facility, including that the control panel for the jail gates must be updated.
The report by the grand jury, which visited the facility Aug. 20, also says the sewer leak in the transportation office is a health hazard that needs to be fixed, and the elevator is in need of cleaning, plus its flooring should be replaced. The facility is located at 1415 Truxtun Ave., adjacent to the Kern County Superior Court building, and has a maximum capacity of 292 inmates.
