Reward offered for information in woman's shooting

The Secret Witness Program is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and filing of a complaint against the suspect or suspects involved in the shooting death of a Bakersfield woman.
At 11:42 p.m. Oct. 1, Bakersfield police were dispatched to the 700 block of L Street and found 40-year-old Laura Porras suffering from gunshot wounds. Porras was taken to a local hospital, where she died a short time later.
The circumstances and motive behind the shooting remain under investigation.
