Lost hikers rescued

About 8 p.m. Thursday, the Kern County sheriff's Search and Rescue team was notified of three lost hikers in the area of Cuddy Valley near the Scott Russell Trail.
Benjamin Alexander, 19, David Brunelle, 18, and Robert Wakling, 19, became disoriented while hiking off of the Scott Russell Trail. As it got dark, Alexander called a relative who then called the Sheriff's Department.
A Ventura County sheriff's helicopter found the lost hikers about a mile from the trail. Ground teams were able to reach the lost hikers at about 2:30 a.m.
None of the hikers were injured.
