Two men reportedly swallow drugs
By BREAKING NEWS
Two men are accused of swallowing marijuana and crack cocaine respectively when they spied law enforcement officers Tuesday afternoon.
The California Multi-Jurisdictional Methamphetamine Enforcement Team was serving a search warrant at about noon in the 200 block of Bliss Street in Bakersfield when the men gulped the narcotics, according to a Kern County Sheriff's Department news release. The warrant wrapped up a month-long heroin sales investigation, the news release said.
Randy Metoyer, the primary suspect, and Duvon Blackmon, both 52, were detained in a vehicle a short distance from Metoyer's residence, but were spotted putting something in their mouth and swallowing it when they saw officers, according to the news release.
Officers found about two grams of tar heroin with a street value of about $200, evidence of heroin sales, narcotics paraphernalia, an .22-caliber pistol and firearm ammunition at the home, officers said.
Blackmon was arrested for four active warrants and on suspicion of destruction of evidence after he admitted to swallowing marijuana. Metoyer admitted he swallowed crack cocaine and was arrested on suspicion of possession of heroin for sale, destruction of evidence, felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition and possession of narcotics paraphernalia, the news release said. The men were booked into the downtown jail.
