Prostitution sting nets 16 arrests


On Tuesday, the Bakersfield Police Department and Kern County Sheriff's Department Joint Vice Task Force conducted a prostitution suppression operation. A total of 16 arrests were made in connection with prostitution related offenses.

The operation encompassed the areas of Union Avenue, South Union Avenue, Baker Street and V Street. These areas, which include residential neighborhoods and businesses, are known to have a high rate of prostitution related activity and have generated numerous complaints.
