Man stabbed following fight

A man was stabbed in the chest early Tuesday morning after a group of people walking in the 900 block of Grace Street confronted the victim and a fight started, according to the Kern County Sheriff's Department.
The 33-year-old man, who had not been identified, was taken to Kern Medical Center for treatment and was in moderate condition, according to a sheriff's news release.
Deputies were originally sent to the scene on a report of a physical fight involving numerous people. The group fled.
Deputies ask that anyone with information about what happened call the Kern County Sheriff's Office at 861-3110 or Secret Witness at 322-4040. Anonymous text message tips can also be sent to 847411 (TIP411); just type the keyword "KCSO" prior to the message.
