By BREAKING NEWS BLOG

About 1:30 p.m. Monday, Kern County sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the 2000 block of Pacific Street in east Bakersfield for a report of a burglary in progress.

Deputies saw a 16-year-old male exiting the window of a residence with stolen property in his possession. The juvenile ran from deputies and was later found hiding in a garage in the 1500 block of Palm Drive where he was taken into custody.

A second 16-year-old male was detained as he tried to run out the back door of the residence.

Both juveniles were booked on suspicion of residential burglary, possession of stolen property, conspiracy, resisting or obstructing an officer and participating in a criminal street gang.
