Alleged drug ring discovered after search of car, home

Kern County Sheriff's deputies arrested a woman and three men accused of drug dealing after a brief car chase Thursday, according to the Kern County Sheriff's Office.
Authorities conducting a lengthy investigation into narcotics trafficking had observed suspicious activity about 7 p.m. Thursday at a residence in the 200 block of Whitlock Street in Bakersfield, deputies said.
A vehicle was seen leaving the residence and investigators directed deputies to conduct a traffic enforcement stop near Fairfax Road and Eucalyptus Drive.
The vehicle, driven by 37-year-old Christina Padilla, failed to yield, and after a brief pursuit, was stopped, deputies said.
Passengers Carlos Padilla, 36, and Alex Padilla, 33. did not comply with deputies' orders and resisted arrest, deputies said.
Authorities discovered Alex Padilla was attempting to conceal a large amount of methamphetamine under his shirt and a set of brass knuckles in his pocket.
Detectives located a total of about four pounds of methamphetamine in the vehicle. Afterward, they served a search warrant at the Whitlock Street home and found an additional four ounces of cocaine and evidence of drug sales.
Christina Padilla was arrested on suspicion of evading, possession of methamphetamine for sale, transportation of drugs and conspiracy. Carlos and Alex Padilla were both arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine for sale, transportation of drugs, conspiracy and resisting arrest.
All three were booked into the Kern County Jail.
