Burglary suspects arrested

Two women were arrested Thursday after an elderly woman came home to find a window of her home in the 1300 block of W. Perch Avenue had been forced open and $5,000 worth of jewelry had been stolen from her bedroom, according to the Kern County Sheriff's Office.
Within a few minutes, deputies obtained information that led them to an address in the 1300 block of W. St. George Avenue.
At about 11:55 p.m. Thursday they conducted a probation search there and found all of the stolen jewelry along with drug paraphernalia and burglary tools, deputies said.
They arrested residents Janis Cupp and Rhonda Lechner on suspicion of residential burglary, possession of stolen property, financial elder abuse, possession of burglary tools and possession of paraphernalia, deputies said.
Both subjects were booked into the Ridgecrest Jail.
