Two men were arrested at about 11:15 p.m. Wednesday after police said they found the pair operating what appeared to be a chop shop for stolen vehicles.
Jeremy Richard Johnston, 42, and Casey James Abercrombie, 35, were taken into custody in the 700 block of N Street in southeast Bakersfield after a parole search by the California Highway Patrol's Kern County Auto Task Force and the Kern County Probation Department.
Authorities found three stolen motorcycles -- a 2007 Yamaha, a 2006 Kawasaki, and a 2004 Suzuki -- as well as three utility trailers with missing or defaced vehicle identification numbers, according to police.
The men were arrested on suspicion of operating a chop shop, possession of stolen vehicles and conspiracy.
